If you ever watch the pros play you will notice that they chalk up their cue stick after every shot. This is so they lesson the chance of miscuing, and they are certain with a fresh application of chalk on the tip their will be no excuse for a bad shot. So if all the pros do then maybe you should apply some chalk after every shot also.
