So you are looking for cheap billiards accessories for your game room. But what exactly are billiard accessories? Here I will be going over some of the basic billiard accessories that every pool table room should have. So you have all of the pool cues that you need for your pool table room, but you do not want your pool cues just lying around getting warped and bent.

Getting a pool cue rack holder is one of the best billiards accessories that you can get for your pool table room. This way you can keep all of your cues nice and straight, and out of harms way from getting tripped over and bumped in to.

As you use your pool table you are going to get some wear and tear on your felt. One way you can do this is by using a felt brush before and after every game. This will get all of the fuzz off of the table, ensuring that you have a smooth play all the way through. Definitely an neccessity when it comes to having some cheap billiard accessories in your billiards room. There are also other types of pool table felt cleaners that are out there from sprays to other types of brushes that will help keep your pool table felt in tip top condition.

Another way to keep your pool table clean would be to get a cover for it. Even if it is an inside table there is still dust in the air along with other particles that can damage the felt. By keeping an cover over your pool table you can ensure and help keep it in great shape, another great cheap billiards accessory that you should have for you game room.

Having chalk at your disposal is also one important cheap billiards accessory in my book, but it is not just having the chalk but knowing where it is at all times. One tip is to get some chalk holders that will attach to the pool table on each corner of the table, this way you can ensure that you will not be losing any chalk. Chalk holders are one of the cheapest billiards accessories that you can get and will save you a lot of headaches as you will always be able to chalk up your cue without walking around looking for it.

If you are a nine ball player you are more than likely want an efficient way to keep score instead of trying to remember the score the entire series, which can easily get confused. One of the cheaper ways to keep score would be to get some score beads that you can hang right above the table, usually under the light. Score beads are normally pretty cheap and are again one of the best cheap billiard accessories that you can add to your pool table room.

The billiards pool table is a true design of engineering perfection. The smooth cloth is stretched over the perfectly level bed on sanded flat slate, which is directly perfectly level in relation to the legs of the pool table to the floor. To play accurate pool with precise consistency the pool table must be perfectly level.

You should be able to lay a flat piece of glass on a pool table and place a marble in the center, the marble should stay in place if set carefully, if the marble rolls then the pool table isn’t properly leveled. To be accurate controlling the cue ball an even pool table is essential. If you are new to buying a pool table I would not recommend setting it up, hire a professional, I don’t care how many “how to’s” you watch or read unless you have experience setting up a pool table is not easy. You invested in a great thing, pay a couple hundred to get it set up correctly.

The pool table cloth is commonly known as “felt”, if you own your own table keep your felt clean, brush it softly from the middle outward. Don’t attempt to jump a ball on your own table, keep that practice for the bar tables. Felt can be pretty expensive and if you can keep a good upkeep on it then it shouldn’t have to be replaced that often.

The pool table is named by sections, the area where the balls are going to be moving is known as the bed, or the cloth, aka “felt”. The head of the table is where the manufacturer’s symbol is at, and where the cue ball rolls out in bar tables, basically the head of a pool table is where you are going to be breaking from. The foot of the pool table is where the balls are racked at, where there should be the spot dot in the center of the foot section of the pool table. On the rails of the common pool table you will see 18 diamonds or circles, which are designed to help the shooter predict his shot accurately, especially when performing bank shots, master the guides and you can master the game.

Mostly all pool tables are twice as long as they are wide, this gos for bar tables to snooker tables, there are 3 basic standards of pool table sizes, 5×10 feet, which are commonly known as snooker tables, 4.5×9 foot, which is the tournament standard for 9 ball and 8ball, and 4×8, which are common bar pool table dimensions. The side pockets are slightly bigger than the corner pockets. Just thought I’d share a little bit information about pool tables.

There are many varieties of pool cues used today, but there are two common types of pool cues that we refer to, either the single piece cue or the double piece cue. Single piece cues are most common as the “house cues” that you can use in bars or pool halls. While the two piece cues are usually, not always, but mostly of better quality.

Just twist the top half of the cue from the bottom and then you will have two pieces that make for easy transportation. There are also three piece cues but they are not considered a major type, the three piece cue is divided into thirds, and you could unscrew the bottom butt if you needed to make a jump shot or you were in a room that did not have sufficient playing space.

One other thing that you should take into consideration when you are looking for a pool cue for sale is how long the cue is. This will vary from every individual as not many of us are exactly the same height, with the same arm length, etc, you get the gist of where I am getting out. Also some cues will be heavier than others, some of these are designed like this so that they are primarily used for breaking. As this is most likely when you are going to have to put the most force behind the stick when you are playing the game of billiards such as 9 ball or even 8 ball.

If you are going to buy an expensive pool cue then there are lots of steps that you should take to ensure that it stays in the best condition possible, that way you do not feel bad because your cue got broken because you decided that you did not want to take care of it. For the expensive cues like the Predator, you may want to invest in a pool cue case. When ever you are not using the cue, take it apart and put it in the case. This will prevent any warping that may happen due to excessive weight or drastic temperature change, or a combination of both.

There is also a special type of sandpaper that you must use in order to get all of the excess chalk off of the stick. This will make sure that the wood stays nice and smooth forever. You know when you have a high quality cue stick because you will not have to use baby powder or something similar in order to get a good stroke on the pool cue.

Cue Cases come in many different designs, come will have a couple of pockets on them so you can store your chalk and tip rounders, or whatever you want to store there. Some cue cases are made of leather, some fancy pool players might have a cue case made out of animal skin, some will just be made out of a cheap leather rip off material.

Cue cases are designed mostly for the two piece cue stick, the inside of a nice cue stick will usually be made of a soft type fur material to protect the wood structure of the cue, also protecting the cue from nicks and scratches when transporting the cue. So depending on how much you care about your pool cue will decide how much you are going to spend on a cue case.If you have a 1000 dollar cue stick you better invest in a good cue case for it, it would be foolish not to.

First thing you need to do when setting up your dartboard is where are you going to put it? You don’t want to place it in a walkway where guests are constantly walking back and forth, no, that would not be a safe place. Place it somewhere off to the side, if you have a billiards room keep it about ten feet away from the pool table, that way if people are playing pool the people that are waiting to shoot a game of pool can comfortably shoot some darts while waiting for their next game at the pool table.

Make sure the dartboard is placed on a flat wall, you want to mount the dartboard so that the center of the bulls eye is about 5 feet 8 inches from the ground. If you want to make a line to where you will throwing the darts (which you should), the line should be about 7 feet 9 inches, make a mark so there is no question on where you should be throwing the darts from.

Turn your billiards room into something special, make your billiards room actually look like its fun to play pool or darts in. Sure a simple pool table is nice to have but why not add some personality into the room. Billiard posters are cheap and can catch the eye, the signs light up the room and add life to the layout. So turn your boring ass pool table room into something great !

Another way that you can add some life to your pool table room is to add some chairs and tables, you know, make it feel like it is an actual pool hall, except you are more than likely not going to have more than one pool table in most cases. But then again there are some cases where you might have more than one pool table in your garage or your entertainment room, but then again that would have to be a pretty big room.
Can’t Go Wrong Having Pool Table Lights

Pool Table Lights just add kick to your billiards room, I mean a pool table just would not look right without a light hovering over the table. They also make a great place to mount score beads, or throw a couple dollars up on if you are the gambling type. So don’t short change your billiards room, mount some lights above your pool table to add some class to your game room. Not only that there are some tricks to where you can use the light from above to get perfectly aligned with your shots when you are stroking the cue, that is a little secret that most of the veterans will not share though.

Pool Playing Tip*
Chalk Your Cue After Every Shot

If you ever watch the pros play you will notice that they chalk up their cue stick after every shot. This is so they lesson the chance of miscuing, and they are certain with a fresh application of chalk on the tip their will be no excuse for a bad shot. So if all the pros do then maybe you should apply some chalk after every shot also.

If you like playing pool as much as I do, and are sick of going out to the local pool hall, then maybe you should try to find a cheap pool table for sale. People are selling pool tables everywhere, so most of the pool tables that are out there for sale are used. The reason for this, I am not sure, maybe just because the owner of the pool table could be upgrading to a bigger and better pool table, or maybe the owner just doesn’t play on it much anymore and needs the extra space. If this is the case you can usually find a great deal on a used pool table.
There are many places that you can look to find a cheap pool table for sale, you could look in your local classifieds, word of mouth, maybe you might find a good deal at a local billiards shop, but they usually sell pool tables at whole sale. If you are choosing to look for a pool table online then Ebay is a good store that has some great auction deals time to time.
Pool Table Factors

When you are planning on buying a pool table there are some considerations that you must take into factor, the biggest one by far is making sure that you have a room or a garage that will be big enough. You do not want to have anything that will obstruct your stroke when shooting a shot, this can be very annoying.

Make sure that you have enough space to get the pool table into the room, in most cases the pool table will have to be disassembled to move it, this should be done by professionals only as you do not want your table to be unlevel or risk damaging the slate or the felt.

This will cost a few hundred dollars depending on what size table you get and how many pieces of slate the pool table has, and of course who is doing it, it is always good to have a friend that does pool table assembly for a living.
Pool Table Room Sizes

There are many sizes of pool tables that you can get but I am only going to discuss four of the more popular sizes that people shop for.

7 x 3.5 foot tables, these are generally most commonly found in sports bars and local pubs, very fun to play on and for most people easier to make shots. If you are interested in getting a bar sized pool table than you want to have a room that is at least 17 x 14 feet.

8 x 4 foot tables, these are found in lots of local pool halls and some bars, you want to have a room size of at least 18 x 14 foot for these.

8 x 4 (oversized) Another common table that can be found in many pool halls and some bars, you want your room size to be slightly bigger than the standard 8 x 4 tables for the oversized version.

9 x 4.5 (Tournament size tables) These are also found in many pool halls and also the size of table that you see the professionals play on, ever watched billiards on ESPN? If you are planning on getting a tournament sized pool table than you want to have a room size of at least 20 x 15 feet.

The room sizes can vary depending on what size pool cue you are using, that is why I said “at least”. I hope this little article has given you some information and some insight on what to look for when looking for a cheap pool table for sale.

Moving A Pool Table

Once you find a pool table that you like the next thing you need to decide is how you are going to get it into your house. The best way and safest way for your pool table to make its way into your new gaming room is too have it done professionally, but the problem with this is that it can get kind of expensive.

Because if they are moving it into through a doorway the table must be de-assembled, which mean that the slate and the felt must be removed and then re-installed. If you have a garage and a couple of friends you and your buddies could just muscle the pool table into the garage without the disassembly, then all you would have to worry about is getting the pool table leveled.
